Handmade from solid sterling silver each tie bar measures approx. 2 inches long by 5/32 inches wide (50.5mm x 4mm), the standard width for a standard 3.25 inch-wide necktie.
Each tie bar features a slim profile with a hand-beveled soft polished edge and is hand formed to ensure the perfect level of tension for a snug fit that will keep your tie secure and in place without catching on your shirts or snagging the luxurious material of your tie. To use the tie bar, simply slide it over your tie and shirt, and it will stay in place. DO NOT PRY THE TIE BAR OPEN. Doing so may damage the tie bar and will eliminate the tension that holds the tie bar in place on your garments.
These tie bars can absolutely be custom-made in different lengths to accommodate skinny ties! Just message me with the measurements you need before you place your order and I'm happy to accommodate. Character limits for personalizations will differ depending on how much shorter you need your tie bar to be. I'm also happy to custom make these tie bars in different widths as well. A Few Important Details and Notes:
🔹Textures and letters are all hand-applied using a hammer and various stamping tools, and every tie bar is finished with a light polish.
🔹The classic Hammered Pebble and Hammered Tree Bark options feature their textured finish all over both the front and back of the bar.
🔹🔹If you'd like to have both texture AND a custom message stamped into the metal of your tie bar, this can be done when you choose a considered a "Personalized Back" tie bar. You can only have custom messages stamped into the back with the tie bar, as custom stamping cannot be done on textured surfaces. The texture will appear on the front side only, and your customization will be stamped into a totally smooth surface on the back to ensure that the alphanumeric characters are all crisp and legible. Just be sure to let me know which texture you prefer in the personalization window along with your custom message and I'm happy to custom stamp it for you!
🔹🔹 Only the “Personalized” options from the drop down menu can be stamped with custom messages because there is an additional fee for custom stamping. This is firm. If a personalization is requested on a Hammered Pebble, Tree Bark, or Plain Polish tie bar the order cannot be fulfilled and it will be cancelled and refunded.
🔹Character limits for custom stamping are firm, as messages that exceed the character limits will not fit on a tie bar:
— Front stamping is always right aligned and has a 15 character limit.
— Back stamping is always centered and has a 15 character limit.
— The word “and” will be substituted with an ampersand, and hyphens in dates are always substituted with periods to conserve space for your custom message.
— Alphanumeric characters measure approximately 2mm tall and are all upper-case.
🔹Custom stamped tie bars are non-returnable and non-refundable due to the personalized nature of the names, dates, and messages being hand stamped into the silver.

- A traditional guideline for tie bar placement is to secure your tie between the third and forth buttons of your shirt.
- Your tie bar should not be wider than your tie. A general rule of practice to finding the proper tie bar width is for your tie bar to extend anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 of the way across the width of your tie.
